Painting under her maiden name, Cain, this Burlingame, CA native first studied art at the California College of Arts and Crafts, in Oakland, CA. She interrupted her training to study for a business career, culminating in a specialty in Human Resources. Taking early retirement in 1987, Judie returned to her study of art through college courses, workshops, and private lessons.
She now teaches the fundamentals of oil painting primarily in her strawbale constructed studio located in the California Mother Lode golf resort community of Forest Meadows near Murphys, CA. Her oil and pastel originals depict the joys of living and a pride in American life and values. Children at play, treasured places and things, and landscapes are among her favorite subjects. This award winning artist is shown in numerous galleries.
